MICOS and Rete Clima: 70 New Trees in Rocca Pietore to Help the Forest Recover After Vaia

The collaboration between MICOS and Rete Clima continues in 2026 with a new reforestation project in the Belluno Dolomites.

In September 2026, together with the Rete Clima team, MICOS supported the planting of 70 trees in Rocca Pietore (BL), to reforest an area severely affected by wind and snow damage caused by Storm Vaia in 2018. Years later, the damage was made worse by the spruce bark beetle (Ips typographus), which has felled thousands of trees.

A project of great value for the Italian Alpine region, it contributes to the renaturalization goals for an area hit by natural disasters.

The initiative is part of Foresta Italia, Rete Clima's national forestation campaign, launched in spring 2022 in partnership with Coldiretti and PEFC.
